Local Business Access Map

LOCAL BUSINESS ACCESS (BUSINESS BORDERED BY US 41 TO CENTRAL AVENUE / FRUITVILLE ROAD TO GULFSTREAM AVENUE)

As part of the City of Sarasota and FDOT’s ongoing construction of a new roundabout at U.S. 41 and Fruitville Road, drivers traveling southbound on U.S. 41 will not be able to turn east/left onto Fruitville Road. This restriction will remain in place through mid-summer 2020.

While this limitation is in effect, drivers traveling southbound on U.S. 41 wishing to access the downtown area highlighted in yellow on the below map, may instead turn onto Boulevard of the Arts or 10th Street, then proceed southbound on Cocoanut Avenue or Central Avenue to their destination. Please see local access routes indicated in blue.

The following businesses and attractions showcase the numerous destinations in the area:

  • Florida State University – College of Medicine
  • Embassy Suites Hotel
  • Florida Studio Theatre
  • Chase Bank
  • Marina Tower
  • Art Ovation
  • Coldwell Banker
  • Selby Public Library
  • Access to 1st Street, 2nd Street or Palm Avenue

The primary goal of the U.S. 41-Fruitville Road Roundabout Project is to improve connectivity, access, and safety for pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic flow between downtown Sarasota and the Bayfront area.
